96 and 85 year old gamers win Wii Bowling tournament

Congratulations!

Everybody loves a good wholesome story every now and again am I right? Well how about two older gamers winning a Wii Sports Bowling tournament in France?

Jeanine (96) and Gilbert (85) took part in the Wii Bowling LAN tournament held by Gamers Assembly, which holds a number of popular LAN tournaments throughout the year.

The dynamic duo Jeanine and Gilbert took part as representatives of their retirement home, and dazzled the crowd with their strike skills, warming all of our hearts in the process.

They also got to take home an impressive-looking trophy of a Wii remote emerging from a bowling ball, which they lifted with pride in front of their adoring fans.

The pair’s victory was quickly shared across Twitter, generating overwhelming support and love for the elderly couple.

One user said: “This is so wholesome! Congratulations to them!”

Another made a very funny point about what the future may hold for elderly gamers: “As the current gamer population ages, I have no doubt we will see more of this. Gamers slide canceling into their 80s with aches and pains.”

It truly was a magical spectacle seeing the crowd go wild for the winners, and we can only hope we see more wholesome moments like this in the future, so congratulations Jeanine and Gilbert, you’ve made your retirement home proud!
