If you've been holding back on pulling the trigger to buy Battlefield 6, now's the time as Amazon has it on sale.

It's been reduced to £58.99 for the PS5 ahead of Black Friday and it's among the cheapest prices out there, so it's a chance to get a head start on your Christmas shopping.

Another thing that might tempt you further is PC gamers have shared a hack to switch off crossplay, so if you've been wanting to only play against other console players this could be good news.

How does the Battlefield 6 crossplay hack work?

If you're a console player but the crossplay function has been bugging you being paired up against PC players with advanced recoil control, this could be worth trying.

Many PC players are frustrated by the aim assist for consoles, feeling it gives users an unfair advantage.

But the hack allows PC users the ability to turn off crossplay, which will create matches free from 'console scrubs'.

The aim assist is designed to bridge the gap in accuracy and skill between console and PC players, but many feel it gives an unfair advantage.

That said, it doesn't stop PC players from plugging in a controller and using aim assist with that workaround if they so wish.

Call of Duty and Apex Legends players have also expressed annoyance in the past at aim assist.

Sneaky PC users are logging on to Battlefield 6's Steam files, finding the PROFSAVE profile, and adding a single line of code that turns off crossplay.

A gamer called Ottr shared the trick on X, and is hoping it will catch on quickly so there are more PC only games.

One person replied "Plot twist, good chunk of PC players are playing with a controller!" with Ottr agreeing; "Very likely, almost like it's a massive advantage."

A console player added: "I had to lower the aim assist on console because it was locking to other players that I didn't want to shoot yet."

The game has pleased fans so far, following the lukewarm response that Battlefield 2042 previously received, many regard 6 as a return to form for EA.

Here at GAMINGbible we rated it an impressive 8/10, calling it a return to the 'golden era' of the series.

Going down particularly well are the maps, solid game balance, and fluid pacing.

Multiplayer has also been praised highly.

Criterion Games Design Director Fasahat Salim told us earlier this year why the campaign mode had to return: “I think it was no secret that people missed the campaign.

"Thinking about myself as a player, because I’m a Battlefield fan before anything else, I always play through the campaign.

“And I think what we’ve ended up with now is the campaign is back to laying the context for some of these levels that you’ll be playing in multiplayer. That was one thing that we know adds a little more depth to these environments, these massively large-scale battlefields that we’ve created, is having some context for why you’re there."

Whether fans will be happier following this hack remains to be seen.
