Corsair K65 Plus Wireless Gaming Keyboard review - For work and play

A perfect keyboard for work and play

If you’re on the prop hunt for a fantastic keyboard and you are a Call of Duty fan, look no further than the K65 Plus Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Black Ops 6 Edition from PC tech experts, Corsair.

Other than being an officially licensed Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 product with the signature black and orange colour scheme, logos on the keys and the “The Truth Lies” slogan on the space bar, this is one of the best and most efficient keyboards I’ve ever used.

Check out the K65 Wireless Gaming Keyboard trailer below!

Being 75% smaller than a standard keyboard, the K65 Plus was already a winner when it provided much-needed workspace on my small desk. The trade-off with the smaller keyboard is having fewer keys for various functions but as soon as you get used to the shortcuts on the K65 Plus, you’ll be thinking nothing of it.

What’s more, once you download the free iCUE app, you can customise the colour scheme and RGB lighting patterns and remap the keys to suit your needs or you can choose to stick with the default settings.

The dial at the top right-hand corner of the keyboard can be programmed to adjust the volume and brightness, zoom in and out, and more. As is the standard with keyboards of this type, you can pull and replace keys as you please, and they will stay extra secure with the PCB mounts.

The K65 Plus features two layers of integrated sound dampening and the top-mount plate under the chassis helps reduce echoes. However, it still retains the satisfying clicky sound of a mechanical keyboard.

The keyboard can be connected via its low-latency Bluetooth or the USB cable provided. It’s claimed that the keyboard can last up to 266 hours on a full charge, which can depend on your settings such as light brightness. So far, I’ve been able to use the keyboard for over two working weeks (and counting) without having to recharge it, which is very impressive.

Provided with the keyboard to review is the Black Ops 6-themed MM300 2XL Gaming Mouse Mat. This stylish mat has 930mm x 400mm (36.6 x 15.75 inches) dimensions. It not only looks the part, especially if you already own the M75 Wireless Gaming Mouse - Black Ops 6 Edition, but it will glide effortlessly across its smooth 4mm-thick rubber texture.

With an RRP of £159.99, the K65 Plus Black Ops 6 Edition doesn't come cheap, but it’s about what you’d expect for a keyboard of this quality, especially with the Call of Duty license. Yet, even without the stylish Black Ops 6 branding, the K65 Plus Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is my favourite keyboard to date and at this point, I can’t imagine wanting to use anything else.
