Zack Snyder and DC's Justice League has beaten Marvel's Avengers: Endgame in a fan vote, believe it or not.

It’s a war that has raged for many decades, DC vs Marvel. Personally, I think there’s enough space in our hearts to appreciate both worlds, especially during a time when comic book adaptations are proving to be more popular than ever. However, as reported by Game Rant, when Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon asked his followers on Twitter to choose between Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, the results were quite interesting to say the least.

The Flash is on the way next from DC. Take a look at the first trailer below.

“What is YOUR jam? There is no wrong answer,” asked the legendary video game developer. Out of 56,244 votes, the poll revealed that 44.5% of followers chose Infinity War/Endgame while the larger 55.5% choose Zach Snyder’s Justice League.

At the box office, little can top the likes of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Infinity War (2018) made $2.05 billion worldwide, while Endgame (2019) made $2.8 billion.

For DC, the box office numbers are a little more complicated when we’re talking about Justice League. Zack Snyder was initially directing Justice League (2017), however, following the tragic passing of his daughter, Joss Whedon had taken over duties. While far behind the MCU’s box office numbers, Justice League (2017) still generated an impressive $658 million worldwide. With a change of director at the helm though, we never got to see Snyder’s intended vision - that was until 2021 with Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Snyder’s cut of Justice League was never released in cinemas. Instead, it premiered via HBO Max in the US and Sky Cinema in the UK. Still, Snyder’s version is largely considered to be the superior release with scores of 6.1 and 8.0 on IMDb, respectively. The decision not to release the Snyder cut in cinemas was likely due to it having a runtime of over four hours, compared to the original coming in at two hours, so that was probably the best move unless you wanted dead-bum syndrome in an uncomfortable, cranky cinema chair.

Currently, the DC franchise is going through a reboot with James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new vision of the DCU seemingly moving away from the Snyderverse. However, despite the new direction, not only does it seem that fans are not ready to move on, but Zach Snyder appears to have teased a Darkseid project. Exciting.
