Well, that didn't take long. Microsoft confirmed the next-gen Xbox Series S model earlier this morning, and the internet has already taken it upon itself to absolutely savage the budget console's design.
The console, which launches in November for just £250, has a much flatter design than the fridge-like Series X console. But that hasn't stopped fans from poking light-hearted fun at the machine over its unconventional appearance. I suppose it's not that surprising given that the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and DualSense controller all suffered the same fate just a few months ago.
As you can see below, it took mere moments for Twitter to come out swinging with their own suggestions for... custom Series S designs.
And then of course there were those who (accurately) compared the console's design to washing machines, McDonald's drive-thru speakers, and everything in between.

Finally, a moment of silence for all the non-gamer parents this Christmas who are faced with a genuinely tough dilemma: Which Xbox did my kid ask for again?
Microsoft has yet to comment on recently leaked Xbox Series X price, which puts the "standard" next-gen console at $499 (around £380). Hopefully we won't be waiting much longer to find out how much the Xbox Series X and PS5 cost... but when the Series S is £250, I'm not sure I care if it looks like a drive-thru speaker.
