It’s shaping up to be a much better year for Xbox. It’s no secret that 2022 was lacking in exclusives. High On Life went down relatively well but almost all other major Xbox titles suffered delays resulting in quite the lacklustre year. Xbox was practically a no-show at The Game Awards.
That’s all changing though. The release of Redfall is right around the corner - on 2 May to be exact - and already this year, Hi-Fi RUSH has been met with a rapturous reception. The big title on the horizon is undeniably Starfield. Bethesda’s upcoming space epic will finally release on 6 September which means we have just over five months to wait. In case you missed it, Starfield will have over 1,000 explorable planets which is a dizzying number. Think of the poor guides writers. Today though, I’m here to talk to you today about the latest Xbox update which has certainly left console owners feeling divided.
Take a look at the release date reveal trailer for Starfield below.
As reported by ComicBook, a new update has been quietly rolled out for both Xbox Series X and S consoles, well, sort of. The update has only been introduced on a “subset of Xbox consoles” as it introduces a brand new look and functionality. Xbox’s director of programming Larry Hyrb said, “Starting to roll out today to a subset of Xbox consoles – you will be able to discover a refresh of the console search page. This includes a sleek new look, gallery-style results, visible filter categories navigable with RB/LB, the option to 'search on YouTube' within the Movies & TV tab, and more."
In the tweet, Hryb included a screenshot of the new console search page and while some are on board with the makeover, others are annoyed that a new dashboard still hasn’t been introduced. Twitter user pyro7ice said, “We’re all asking for a better dashboard. Let’s make that happen,” while clixbrigidxterx added, “I nearly got surprised thinking it’s a new dashboard.”

It’s not yet known when the new search page update will roll out to all consoles. I suppose it’s one step closer to a new dashboard.
