Wolverine and Hulk get to properly fight after Deadpool & Wolverine teased us

Time to Snikt and Smash

While we didn’t get to see Wolverine and The Hulk throw down in Deadpool & Wolverine as teased, we are going to see the heroes clash elsewhere.

We got to see a tiny slice of the action in the recent film, which paid homage to Todd McFarlane’s 1987 comic, The Incredible Hulk #340, but any action was stolen away from us as Deadpool moved onto another variant.

Marvel has given us a good look at what's to come in 2025 with a sizzle reel for Disney+

If you’ve been thirsty for that fight ever since then Marvel is handing out the goods in Deadpool Team-Up #3 this week.

I’m going to try and give you some backstory to this fight but it is complex and convoluted in only the way Marvel comics can be.

Deadpool, and Wolverine, who is along for the ride, are tasked with collecting dragon eggs that have been hidden by Dragonlord Ral Dorn.

Teaming up with Ral, Wade Wilson learns that warlord Baron Skagerackrakor stole Ral’s scared staff to overthrow Ral after Ral killed his father in a 1981 Fantastic Four comic.

Ral gets the staff back and opens a portal to Weirdworld, where the characters find themselves in a swamp fighting a Swamp Serpent.

Ral opens a portal to summon a champion, “A savage dragon to fell this serpent.”

And instead of a green, scaly dragon, The Incredible Hulk shows up and tries to smash the puny humans into a bloody pulp.

Phew, that was some intense comic book mumbo jumbo to get to the point of Wolverine having to go toe-to-toe with The Hulk.

In a nice nod to the past, Wolverine claims he has “181 reasons” to finally put down The Hulk - a callback to their first fight in 1974’s Incredible Hulk #181.

The two iconic characters duke it out over several pages of the comic.

Spoiler time!

Wolverine gets some good slices in, while The Hulk does what he does best and smashes the smaller hero with great shots.

Wade and Ral help Wolverine battle the big green guy before The Hulk is sent back to Earth, and the fight will likely conclude in another comic book at another time.
