At long last, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever released in cinemas last Friday, and if Rotten Tomatoes’ stunning 95% audience score is anything to go by, it’s safe to say that most fans loved it. Many were touched by the film’s tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who tragically passed away after a battle with cancer in 2020.
Some fans have now begun rallying support for Angela Bassett (AKA Queen Ramonda) to get an Oscar nomination for her performance - I’m sure we can all agree that it’d be very deserved. However, not everyone is happy with the film - in fact, many Twitter users have been dismayed to discover that Namor (portrayed by Tenoch Huerta) has seemingly been censored in the final theatrical release.
Take a look at the trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever below.
So, what exactly has been censored? His d*ck bulge. People are upset that the guy’s package has apparently been flattened out of existence, which has prompted some hilarious responses.

“GIVE NAMOR HIS PENIS BACK,” tweeted @belovasoup, attaching screenshots of the supposed censorship. “THEY TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME,” replied @thechaoshex. “#ReleaseTheNamorC*ck,” added @Josukenobi. “Imagine you step out of the changing room at your costume fitting and Kevin Feige looks at your d*ck and balls and says ‘We'll get rid of that in post’,” wrote @Alejandrobot.
As Screen Rant writes, this is far from the first time that an actor’s body in the MCU has been digitally altered to look different. Take Chris Evans in Captain America: The First Avenger - using body doubles and CGI, he was made to appear far less brawny and tall than he actually is for the scenes prior to Steve Rogers being injected with the Super-Soldier serum. These changes were a lot more apparent though, and also for an actual plot-based reason - it’s not known why exactly Marvel seemingly decided that Namor’s unedited crotch couldn’t make the final cut.
