Homophobic (presumably lonely) Marvel fans furious at Tom Holland's gay sex scene in new show

Homophobic mobs are angry again.

Every day it seems that some corners of the internet will actively look for reasons to be angry. As a content warning, this article features references of a criminal and sexual nature.

Marvel Cinematic Universe star Tom Holland who of course plays Peter Parker aka Spider-Man is one of the most beloved actors in the industry and can often turn something distinctly average, into something that is quite fun. Case and point, the recent Uncharted movie in which Holland co-starred alongside Mark Wahlberg.

Sadly, as reported by Out.com, it seems that the charm of Tom Holland is not enough to win over the homophobic mob with cries of “Not my Spider-Man”! Holland is starring in the new Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room, playing the character, Billy Milligan. The Crowded Room is inspired by a true story, the subject of a nonfiction novel by Daniel Keyes.

The series tells the story of Billy Milligan who was arrested for robbery and the rape of three people in the US state of Ohio. After being arrested, Milligan engages in sexual activity with other men. This aspect of the series has angered the mob, despite Tom Holland being heterosexual and in a relationship with Spider-Man MCU co-star, Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman for a number of years.

“In Manhattan in the summer of 1979, a young man is arrested for a shocking crime, and an unlikely investigator must solve the mystery behind it before the true criminal strikes again,” reads The Crowded Room synopsis. We won’t include more of the homophobic comments in this article, but they’re not hard to find with a quick search in the comments section of various social media channels. Other than the official trailer on YouTube, because comments have been turned off for obvious reasons.

In somewhat related news, Tom Holland has declared that a part of him is ready to leave the role of Spider-Man in the MCU. Say it ain't so!

The Crowded Room is available to watch via Apple TV+ now.
