Uncharted Creator's New Star Wars Game Set During Original Trilogy, Says Insider

Yesterday (19 April), the Star Wars official website announced that a new game was on the way, in collaboration with Amy Hennig and her division Skydance New Media.

Amy Hennig is of course best known for being the creative director on the original Uncharted trilogy. Hennig had complete control over Uncharted and the 150 developers working on it, and not only helped to shape the character we know as the cheeky chappy Nathan Drake, but the action adventure genre of gaming as a whole. It’s no surprise then, that while the announcement gave very little away about the upcoming game, people were excited about what Hennig might be creating.

Check out the latest Star Wars game, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in the video below.

While talking to insider AccountNGT, Dualshockers has revealed new information on the project. Hennig was previously linked to another Star Wars project which was cancelled by publisher EA after it closed down the studio which was working on it, Visceral Games.

The game was codenamed Project Ragtag, and was an action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe based on a large-scale space heist set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Hennig since moved on to lead her division under Skydance Media, and worked writing for upcoming Square Enix title, Forspoken.

According to AccountNGT, the new game is a revival of Project Ragtag, and will still be set within the timeline of the original Star Wars trilogy. While this is by no means confirmation that Project Ragtag is coming back to life, having worked on Uncharted, Legacy Of Kain, Jak And Daxter, and now Forspoken, it seems likely that Hennig will stick to the genre which she knows best.

We’re hoping for more official confirmation in the near future, but for now rabid speculation will have to do.
