Upcoming racing game Star Wars: Galactic Racer has just confirmed its release date for later this year.
There are a load of upcoming Star Wars games on the table for the near future, including Star Wars: Zero Company, Fate of the Old Republic, and the third installment of Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi series.
Another one which has been getting some attention lately is Star Wars: Galactic Racer, a spiritual successor to the much earlier Star Wars Racer series.
While the game has just had a rather vague ‘2026’ release window attached to it, a proper release date was briefly revealed on Friday this week before reverting back to the original window.

That didn’t stop the new release date from being caught by users though, with Wario64 sharing that Secret Mode plans to release the game on 6 October, 2026.
Details regarding the game’s Deluxe Edition contents were also revealed too, with three exclusive ‘Repulsorcraft’ and liveries available for buyers. This version also comes with three unique arcade events, and a digital art book.
Those who pre-order the game can also collect three liveries and player banners which are exclusive to early adopters.
Alongside that, it’s also confirmed that Star Wars: Galactic Racer will have an exclusive steelbook with a sleeve for Deluxe Edition buyers, making it an excellent addition for any collectors who wish to pop this on their shelves.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is developed by Fuse Games, a new studio established in 2023 consisting of former Criterion Games developers, the company behind the Burnout and Need For Speed series.
It’s basically a racing game set in the Star Wars universe, featuring a mix of fast ships, speeders and podracers which have become so intrinsically linked to the franchise. Given Fuse Games’ history with racing games, it feels like a match made in heaven.
It’ll feature various planets and locations from across the Star Wars universe for you to race through, including Hoth, Jakku, Endor and Tatooine. I’m holding out hope we also get some cheeky street races in Coruscant too.
The blurb on Star Wars: Galactic Racer reads: “STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™ is a high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is created: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged.”
Since retracting the release date, it’s worth waiting on Secret Mode to officially unveil the release date for Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
However, all things considered, it looks like the game is on track to release on 6 October, 2026.
