Way back at the start of the year, it was announced that Ubisoft’s subscription service, Ubisoft+, would be coming to Xbox at some point “in the future”, which wins points for potentially the most vague release window of all time. Now though, as reported by VGC, it looks like it could be happening very soon.
While you're here, be sure to take a look at the trailer for Assassin's Creed Valhalla's new free DLC, The Forgotten Saga.
The service, which starts at £12.99 ($14.99) a month for PC access, or £14.99 ($17.99) a month for multi-platform, gives subscribers over 100 Ubisoft games (including Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Watch Dogs: Legion), including day-one access to new releases, as well as DLC. Twitter user @ALumia_Italia has allegedly found the Ubisoft+ logo in the Xbox backend, which could suggest that its introduction is imminent.
It’s worth keeping in mind that this isn’t going to be like EA Play, which was incorporated at no extra cost as part of Game Pass Ultimate - Ubisoft have confirmed that their service will be kept separate. This might be slightly contentious, given that PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tier subscribers get free access to Ubisoft+ Classics as part of their subscription (although that has a more limited library - the full Ubisoft+ service is set to arrive on PlayStation at some point, too).
Advert
At the time of writing, there’s been no update from Ubisoft or Xbox on when the service is set to hit consoles, so we’ll just have to stay tuned.
