Twitch streamer banned live over her username, fans left baffled

A Twitch streamer has been live over her username, and fans are left totally baffled.

Twitch can be a fantastic platform and a place to interact with your favourite content creators, whether it be the latest video games, a bit of retro goodness, a chat or even bathing half-naked in an inflatable paddling pool.

Sadly, however, Twitch can be rife with issues related to gambling and overly sexualised content. So with that in mind, the Twitch streamer in question must have seriously violated Twitch terms and conditions with her username, right?

Ok, you’ve been warned. The Twitcher streamer's username that got her banned is…. “Yourmotherisafish”. I know, no matter how much we try to warn you, nothing can prepare you for that shock.

For the record, we’re not calling your mother a fish. Yourmotherisafish is calling yo mamma a fish. No one’s mom should ever be called a fish... Ever!

News spread of this shocking Twitch violation and Redditors were in total disbelief, battled, even.

“My mother looks like a fish and I got bullied for it at school. When I saw her username I cried,” said RedditUsername123456. “It's much more complicated than that because my mother is actually a dolphin and belittling her to a fish is very offensive to me,” replied DGC_David.

Clearly not seeing the error of her ways, Yourmotherisafish, real name Fish took to Twitter to express her disdain.

“There's no way Twitch Support I just got banned LIVE for my username, even though you've used my clip with it before and it was fine?” said Fish.

Despite clear violations that on any other occasion would not only result in a permanent Twitch ban but perhaps even a ban on Mixer, the kind-hearted and forgiving folks at Twitch lifted the ban. Proof that even during the darkest times, good can prevail.
