Amazon Forced To Ban Itself Over NSFW Twitch Stream

Amazon Forced To Ban Itself Over NSFW Twitch Stream

Amazon banned itself in its confusion

Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, has been forced to suspend an Amazon Prime account, which is also owned by Amazon (obviously). What we have here, then, is a remarkable case of Amazon being forced to ban itself over an NSFW clip.

As reported by Dexerto, Twitch recently suspended the official Prime Video España - an official Amazon Prime Video channel. This is the very first time an Amazon channel has been suspended from the Amazon-owned streaming platform. And all because Prime Video España actually did break the rules in a pretty big way.

Before we go on, take a look at some of the funniest livestream wins and fails below. Although tbh, none of them are quite as funny as the fact Amazon just banned itself.

So, what went wrong? As far as we can tell, Prime Video España was streaming the last 2021 episode of the panel show Esto Es Un Late when things went south. A few hours into the show, host and comedian Henar Álvarez actually announced she intended to "go for the ban", before lifting up her shirt.

She was joined by one of the other panelists, who pulled her shirt down and exposed a nipple. It wasn't for a particularly long stretch of time and certainly wasn't sexual in its intent, but it was enough to fall foul of Twitch's guidelines.

While Twitch hasn't confirmed this was the reason for the suspension, it almost definitely was. Álvarez was in direct violation of Twitch's community guidelines on Nudity, Pornography, and Other Sexual Content, which specifically state the following:

"For those who present as women, we ask that you cover your nipples. We do not permit exposed underbust. Cleavage is unrestricted as long as these coverage requirements are met."

Prime Video España has never been suspended before, so the ban is not expected to last more than a month.
