Marking the first time that The Legend of Zelda has headed to the big screen, The Legend of Zelda movie has officially entered production and not only that, we now know that we will be sitting down to watch it on 26 March, 2027.

With the project in its early stages, we do not yet know which famous faces will be taking on the iconic roles of Link, Zelda, Ganon, and more.

However, it is safe to say that Nintendo fans are feeling the hype.

After all, The Legend of Zelda series kicked off way back in 1986 and has become a staple of the gaming community since then.

"A live-action adaptation of the video game franchise, The Legend of Zelda follows Link, a young warrior destined to protect the magical kingdom of Hyrule from the forces of darkness," reads the Production List synopsis.

“The land is under threat from Ganon, a ruthless warlord who seeks the Triforce - an ancient relic said to grant limitless power. To stop him, Link must embark on a perilous journey, battling monstrous creatures, exploring treacherous dungeons, and solving intricate puzzles to uncover sacred artifacts that can aid him in his quest."

It is believed that filming for the movie will begin in November 2025 in New Zealand and is expected to finish around April 2026.

Not only that but according to industry insider Daniel "DanielRPK" Richtman, The Legend of Zelda could see itself be the first in a movie trilogy.

However, this is merely a rumour so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.

Nevertheless, it is exciting news to say the least but let's hope it performs better than A Minecraft Movie…
