For so many, Halloween is the perfect time of the year to play our favourite horror video games and watch our most gruesome movies.

In fact, we don't need a certain time of the year to scare ourselves witless because we can do that anytime. However, whether it’s watching the classic John Carpenter movies or being immersed in the foggy town of Silent Hill, there’s something extra special about the Halloween season.

Check out the Silent Hill 2 trailer below!

If you’re looking for the perfect scary game to play this October, then you should look no further than the Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team.

In my review of Silent Hill 2, I said: “Bloober Team has finally realised its potential, and its remake of Silent Hill 2 deserves its place amongst the upper echelon of modern survival horror greats.”

Aside from the wonderful horror video games, how about some gory movies to keep us occupied, and what if those horror movies were totally free?

As brought to our attention by Twitter user Wario64, courtesy of Microsoft, included with the Xbox Game Pass perks this month, you can claim Saw and The Devil’s Rejects. However, just a heads up, these adult movies are rated 18 in the UK and R in the USA.

Saw & The Devil's Rejects digital movies are free on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks (claim from Xbox PC app/Xbox mobile app/Game Pass section on console) https://t.co/aoyZRFCF9Y

“Would you kill to live? That's what two men have to ask themselves when they're abducted by a serial killer and paired up in a deadly situation,” reads the synopsis of Saw.

“The murderous, backwoods Firefly family take to the road to escape a vengeful police force which is not afraid of being as ruthless as their target,” the synopsis of The Devil’s Rejects reads.

You only have until Halloween night on 31 October 2024 to claim both of these fantastic horror movies. But please keep in mind that it might not be wise to reject this offer, otherwise Jigsaw might force you to take part in his game.
