Star Wars and The Witcher are finally colliding, and we can't wait

Expect some epic fights in the upcoming season

If you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll likely fall into one of two categories.

The first is in which you’re rejoicing at The Acolyte’s cancellation. If that’s you, I have one word: booooooooooo.

The second category is for those of us mourning The Acolyte’s cancellation and desperately hoping for a late renewal.

It’s unlikely, which is criminal. I can’t believe Lucasfilm finally dangled the tale of Darth Plagueis The Wise in front of us only to take it away again.

There’s little I can do to console those of us in category two except tease that the upcoming fourth season of The Witcher is set to have a small link to The Acolyte.

The Witcher’s fourth season marks a huge turning point for the series, with Liam Hemsworth debuting in the role of Geralt of Rivia, left open by the departing Henry Cavill.

With Cavill reportedly having left the show due to creative differences surrounding the show’s departure from author Andrzej Sapkowski’s source novels, it’ll be interesting to see what the fan reception is like.

One thing that we do now know about season four - and season five for that matter - is that they’ll be bringing on board The Acolyte’s fight choreographer.

Christopher Clark Cowan has stepped in to replace Wolfgang Stegemann, as reported by Rednian Intelligence.

In addition to working on The Acolyte, Cowan also has credits on Kingsman 2, Argyle, and Wonder Woman.

This isn’t his first rodeo when it comes to The Witcher; Cowan was an action designer and second unit director on part of the show’s first season, arguably its best season.

You’ve got to admit, whatever you thought of The Acolyte, it easily featured the best fight choreography in the Star Wars franchise in years.

The Acolyte’s fights were slick, fast-paced, and tense - a far cry from, for example, Ahsoka’s fight choreography which looked equal parts goofy and nonsensical.

The Witcher’s fourth season shouldn’t be too far away as it’s set to launch sometime in 2025 with filming having wrapped.

In fact, filming is already underway on the fifth season so it looks like it's full steam ahead on this project.
