Star Wars fans hyped for surprise new prequel to The Acolyte

Star Wars: The Acolyte has a new prequel you can get right now, starring Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh.

It’s a shame Star Wars: The Acolyte ended before it really had a chance to begin, as some exciting stuff was planned for Season 2 like Darth Plagueis realised in live-action; that would have been great.

Unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be, as the series suffered from low viewer counts and an overall negative reception from fans.

This is Star Wars though meaning even though a series or film fails, there’s a chance for it to continue through the extended universe, which is how The Acolyte is getting a prequel.

The Acolyte: Wayseeker is a new novel set before the events of the series starring Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh who fans will remember as the Jedi who used a lightsaber that could become a whip.

The new book features Vernestra and her Jedi partner Indara on a new investigation, keeping the spirit of The Acolyte intact as the whole series was practically a Jedi crime thriller.

Fans are pretty excited, with one saying online that they “can’t wait until mine comes in the mail today".

Another added, “I'm on the first High Republic book but still ordered this and it's out along with Bloodline. Excited that my girl Indara's finally in the High Republic print universe.”

Others were less excited for the book though: “Those books were commissioned when Disney was thinking The Acolyte couldn't fail. The absolute lack of audience for the show will be reflected in those books.”

Again, it’s a shame The Acolyte didn’t get the love it needed to continue, but never say never. Perhaps one day, it’ll get that second season, or at least have some of the planned story elements recycled into a new show set during the High Republic.
