Star Wars is bringing back Luke Skywalker, and fans are excited to see this new version of the character.

As one of the core characters of Star Wars’ central mythos, Luke Skywalker has made countless appearances in various movies, TV shows, books, and elsewhere. He’s pretty much one of the most iconic characters in the whole franchise.

Despite being killed off in 2017’s The Last Jedi, the character returned as a Force Ghost in The Rise of Skywalker just two years later.

Mark Hamill then reprised his role for two television appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

Did you enjoy Star Wars: Skeleton Crew as much as we did?

While Hamill has seemingly ruled out appearing again in more Luke Skywalker stories, it seems Disney is bringing the character back with a new actor.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Luke Skywalker would be coming to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attraction at Disneyland Resort. He’ll debut with the Season of the Force which began on 28 March.

“I thought this was cosplay and I interpreted it as someone dressed up as Luke and went there for a photo shoot,” wrote one comment on Reddit. “This is awesome news though I can’t wait to see the actor and all the interactions.”

What’s more is that it looks like this is a younger version of Luke as he appeared in Return of the Jedi, hinting that Galaxy’s Edge might be featuring more characters from other Star Wars eras.

“Finally they can get rid of this ridiculous timeline they stuck this land in,” another wrote. “The vibes were so off in Galaxy’s Edge without original trilogy characters."

"Hopefully expansions will feature other timelines as well, as will new locations in Smugglers Run.”

“They could make Smugglers run into an original trilogy attraction and keep ROTR as a sequel attraction,” another added. “They’re on opposite ends of the land, so it wouldn’t feel weird as long as the characters don’t cross paths. Might as well find room for Star Tours at this point and clear up more space in Tomorrowland.”

Here’s hoping this opens the door for more characters from other eras to appear in Galaxy’s Edge.

We love the characters that already appear there, but imagine if we got Obi-Wan Kenobi or Mace Windu appearances.
