Rey Skywalker has returned, but it’s not Daisy Ridley in the driver’s seat this time around.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past is officially available to enjoy on Disney Plus, and it’s not a project you should turn your nose up at.

If you enjoyed Telltale Games’ LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, you’ll most definitely enjoy what’s on offer here too.

Certainly, this is a TV series and not a game, but LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past captures that same sense of whimsy.

You should expect the unexpected; think strange team-ups, surprise character appearances, and the silliest of jokes.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past comprises four episodes, all of which landed on Disney Plus on 19 September.

It acts as a sequel to LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy which landed in 2024, comprising another four episodes.

Given that each episode lasts for under 30 minutes, it shouldn’t take you long to speed through them all.

As is the case with LEGO Marvel projects, the cast list features some returning mainline franchise actors, but also some new faces … or voices, I should say.

One of those is Helen Sadler as Rey, although here she’s Darth Rey.

Sadler voices the character in both Rebuild the Galaxy and Pieces of the Past so she’s not totally new to the role but it’s a casting that many people have not made note of.

As for why Ridley didn’t want to return, well, we don’t know.

It could just be that she’s waiting to do so in the announced Rey film which never seems to arrive.

As for returning cast members, Ahmed Best is back as Jar Jar (Darth Jar Jar, to be precise), Mark Hamill stars as Luke Skywalker, Ashley Eckstein is back as Ahsoka Tano, with Anthony Daniels once again portraying C-3PO.

That’s just to name a few.

As for recast characters, well, Ross Marquand voices Han Solo with TC Carson bringing Mace Windu to life. Shelby Young stars as Princess Leia (I love her Instagram content, felt important to mention).

What’s incredibly special about Pieces of the Past is that it actually marks the TV debut of Cal Kestis from Respwawn’s Jedi games with Cameron Monaghan returning to the role.

If you haven’t yet given the series a watch, do.

It’s light-hearted, fun, and might be just what many of us need in the world right now.
