Star Wars fans seriously divided by Jar Jar Binks' 'new' canon fate

Poor Jar Jar Binks of the Star Wars universe simply cannot catch a break, especially after fans learn his canon fate.

For many, Jar Jar Binks is one of the most annoying characters in the Star Wars universe. I did think to myself once “Is he really that annoying?”. Then I recently rewatched Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace a few months ago, and yes, he’s still instantly annoying.

However, as annoying as Jar Jar Binks is to some, did he really deserve this fate, as discovered by Star Wars fans on Reddit? I’ll let you decide.

“Jar Jar's fate in the new canon hit me hard,” said Redditor kazakirinyancat.

“He's back on Naboo and is a street clown according to the novel Aftermath: Empire's End,” they continued. “Jar Jar is Jar Jar, and I don't know why this information made me feel as bad as it did. I think I need a drink or three.”

“I always liked Jar Jar Binks as a kid, he made me smile,” said a reminiscent ClaudiCloud1998.

“The dude was a senator lol,” laughed moatman555 (likely also pointing a finger just like Nelson Muntz from The Simpsons).

“So, Jar Jar went from a wandering idiot to a war hero, to a senator, and then to a street clown?” replied KnocDown.

“Fools! He is just biding his time and regathering his strength. Soon Darth Jar Jar shall rise again,” prophesied Stormberry99.

I do feel a bit (only a bit) sorry for Jar Jar Binks and maybe the folks at Star Wars towers will give him a redemption story one day. Perhaps in an episode of an animated series or something.
