Star Wars fans unite over General Grievous prequel show

This will make a fine addition to my collection

Star Wars fans are desperate to see General Grievous back on their screens, and given some of Disney’s recent Star Wars decisions… this actually doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

General Grievous is probably the coolest thing that George Lucas introduced in the Star Wars prequel films, which is why it’s kind of baffling that his coolest moments aren’t actually part of the live-action trilogy.

The first time I saw the character was when he was introduced back in the 2003 animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars, tearing through a bunch of seasoned Jedi by himself. After seeing that, I was so ready to see how cool this guy would look in live-action.

And yeah, he did look cool when he finally popped up… but let’s be real, he didn’t really do much in the prequel films. He basically just got rocked by Obi-Wan, and then that was it.

Well, the fans over on the r/StarWars subreddit in a thread titled “General Grievous needs a show” want him to have his time to shine.

There is one issue, however; fans can’t decide if they want him back in a TV series or in a standalone movie.

“I’d love a Grievous horror movie about him hunting Jedi,” commented user Sheepherder676.

“Oh yes, I was thinking the same,” replied user Dangerous-Sink6574.

“Just do an eight episode mini series where he comes across eight Jedi in some consistent story arc and kills them all. So sick, and would paint him as an amazing fighter in his own right.”

Personally, I’d be cool with either, but I do think that a mini-series focusing on Grievous might run into some budget issues.

He’s not really the type of character you could pull off with practical effects, so you’d have to pay through the nose to stick his big metal CGI butt on the screen.

However, if it were an animated show? Now that I can see.
