Star Wars fans lose it over our first look at 'dark side' Yoda

The Star Wars community is going crazy over an evil version of Yoda, possibly the scariest “what if?” of the Star Wars franchise.

Yoda is one of the most powerful Jedi warriors in the Star Wars canon, but age clearly got the better of him when Order 66 took place as he was unable to defeat Palpatine and prevent his rise to power.

He put up a good fight though, and it’s undoubtedly one of the coolest lightsaber battles in Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith

With power like that though it’s a good thing he’s on the Light side, but a new comic called Star Wars: Jedi Knights has teased fans with a reality where Yoda became the emperor of the galaxy instead of Palpatine… it’s horrifying.

It’s in the first issue of the new series and while it’s not lingered on for long it paints a vivid picture of what a nightmare it’d be.

The comic art shows Yoda in Palpatine’s hooded outfit, obviously had some ear holes cut into the fabric though, and he’s channelling force lightning in his hand, claw, whatever it is…

That’s all we get for the time being but it was enough to get fans excited, and they’ve been talking about it online.

Sharing their thoughts about this dark side creation in a Reddit thread one fan said “um… dark side yoda image at the end? love that especially since a lot of those other events have happened.”

That wasn’t the only Yoda that made an appearance though, as Yaddle also made a comeback, with another comment praising the character’s return saying “Loved this issue! Seeing Yaddle again after Tales of the Jedi is great, and I think that was Kelleran Beq in that two page art towards the end. Excited for what this series holds.”

Sounds like the new comic series is off to a good start, and there are plenty more issues to come too so that’s exciting.
