Star Wars is a franchise that’s ever-growing, so it can be hard to keep track of its lore.
For example, you may have missed out on what happened to Yoda’s lightsaber, but I’m on hand to fill you in.
Thanks to ScreenRant’s Sean Morrison for the timeline on this one.

Our journey begins in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, my personal favourite Star Wars film, where Yoda faces off against Darth Sidious / Emperor Palpatine.
Palpatine was able to knock Yoda’s lightsaber out of his hand, prompting Yoda to flee from the Senate building.
It’s believed that, at this stage, the lightsaber remained within Palpatine’s possession.
Following Order 66 though, several lightsabers were gathered by Mas Amedda, a follower of Palpatine’s, and burnt in a public display reflecting the downfall of the Jedi.

This included Yoda’s lightsaber.
ICYMI: Andor returns for its second and final season next month.
The story doesn’t end there though; bro had a backup.
Yoda reportedly kept a second lightsaber on Dagobah which is where he eventually retreated to.

As we’re all well aware, Luke Skywalker eventually hunts the little fella down in Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back.
While on Dagobah though, Yoda shied away from using his lightsaber, instead using his connection to the force.
When Yoda passes away during Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker then assumes ownership over the lightsaber.
Our journey next takes us to The Mandalorian where we saw a young Luke offering Yoda’s lightsaber to Grogu.

If you’ve watched the show though, you’ll know that Grogu instead chooses the Beskar armour, reuniting with Din.
From this point on, we lose track of the lightsaber.
Luke opened the Jedi Academy on Ossus but no one knows if he kept the lightsaber or gifted it to one of the students.
I should also point out that the lightsaber in question isn't even Yoda’s first as that was given away by the Jedi Master in Young Jedi Adventures.

So while we can track his lightsaber’s journey so far, no one actually knows its final resting spot … yet anyway.
There are plenty of new Star Wars projects on the way so who knows? Perhaps the gaps will be filled in before long.
