Believe it or not, there is still an unsolved Star Wars mystery that has been puzzling fans for over two decades.
Star Wars has such an expansive universe, that it’s inevitable that lots of mysteries and questions are going to keep coming up from time to time.
Mysteries like what the name of Yoda’s species is, or what happens to non-Force users after they die, are left on the table for fan interpretations over the years.
Now, fans have gone back to a 23-year-old detail from 2002’s Attack of the Clones as another mystery that the series has not answered.

And they’re pretty baffled the series hasn’t given a straightforward answer to this yet.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones came out in 2002.
As spotted by ScreenRant, in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, Jango Fett says something to Boba in an unknown language during a conversation with Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Following this, Boba walks away and presses a button which closes a closet door, hiding Jango’s Mandalorian armour.
Official transcriptions of this speech seem to write this line as “Boba, rood eht so-heeck”, but no English translation has been given.
From this, we can assume he’s asking Boba to hide the armour (Hey, Jango, probably a good idea to do this before inviting the Jedi in for tea and cakes), but the bigger mystery here is that we don’t know what language it’s in.
Considering Jango was raised by Mandalorians (but isn’t a Mandalorian himself), it could be inferred that this is Mando’a, the official language of Mandalore natives. That’s what I had always assumed, anyway.
However, the phrase has not been identified as Mando’a since then, despite the language having been fleshed out in other Star Wars media, especially ones produced by Disney.
That leaves two other theories: that this is either another language entirely, or even a secret code between Jango and Boba that acts roughly as a “we’re compromised” warning.
Altogether, it doesn’t matter too much. Judging from Jango’s tone of voice and Boba’s actions following the line, we know what he means.
Still, I’m sure this is a detail that Star Wars fans would love to have answered at some point in the future.
