Netflix is at it again everybody, announcing price hikes for multiple membership tiers. How fun.

It’s not the first time the streaming giant has raised its prices, as despite the immense backlash from viewers, subscription figures have steadily increased over the last year.

Least there's some good stuff coming to Netflix soon, like Rebel Moon. Take a look below.

Netflix landed itself in some hot water when it announced it’d also be cracking down on password sharing, meaning you could no longer lend your Netflix account to a friend or family member who didn’t live in the same house as you. Again, despite many saying they’d cancel their memberships, subscriptions went up, meaning the company won that battle.

Now though, another price hike is on the way, and it’ll affect several membership tiers. There are now multiple subscription tiers to choose from, with more affordable memberships including adverts, whereas the pricier ones are ad-free.

The “Basic” plan, the lowest ad-free tier you can buy, will soon increase from $9.99 per month to $11.99, followed by the "Premium" plan increasing from $19.99 per month to $22.99 per month. The latter plan is what enables users to now stream to more than one device in a household.

For those in the UK or parts of Europe, that translates to the Basic plan increasing to £7.99 and 10.99 euros per month, with the Premium tier increasing to £17.99 and 19.99 euros per month.

Memberships that include adverts will be unaffected by the price hike, as will the “Standard” tier, though this could always change in the future.

In other news, Netflix is slowly making its way into the video game industry, with a game currently in development from the creator of Halo, Joseph Staten, as well as reported plans to publish Grand Theft Auto games on the service following a potential deal with Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two.

The price increase for Netflix subscriptions will go into effect later this year.
