Mass Effect fans are losing after an announcement regarding the upcoming television series was made.
Back in November last year, Amazon MGM Studios announced that it was working on a TV series based on the Mass Effect franchise.
With Mass Effect 5 also in the works, it seems like Electronic Arts is keen to get people talking about the series again. Yeah, Andromeda wasn’t perfect, but people still love those first three games.
As far as we know, the series is being written and executive produced by Daniel Casey, who is already quite familiar with the source material. Karim Zreik, Ari Arad, and EA’s Michael Gamble will also executive produce the series.

What’s more, Casey announced on Instagram that the production team behind Amazon’s Fallout series is also working on the Mass Effect series.
“l'm working on a Mass Effect show for Amazon. We’re greenlit to start our writer's room at the top of 2025,” the writer posted.
“Doing this right is and has been top priority for nearly two years now (though we paused for the strike last year). We have a great pilot script and series outline, the team that Amazon has in place (same team as #fallout including the fantastic @scottfarris ) is incredible. Standby for further updates.”
Considering the popularity of Fallout, as well as the fact it respected the source material while being an enjoyable show, Mass Effect fans are pretty hyped now.

“Well that makes me feel good about it,” writes one fan on Reddit.
“It just all depends on what they make the series. No Shep. The Mass Effect universe is big enough to focus on other characters,” another fan added.
“Seeing that it's the same base team as Fallout gives me a tiny amount of hope,” a third comment reads. “One of the things that helped make Fallout work is that (so far) they haven't done anything that directly intersects with any of the games' main characters.”
Amazon's Mass Effect is still early in development, so it’ll be a while before we get any concrete information or a trailer.
