Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser sends fans wild: 'exactly what we wanted'

The MCU is back on track

With Spider-Man: Brand New Day set to hit cinemas next year, reports surrounding the highly-anticipated movies are finally starting to be released and fans are feeling the hype.

As the fourth Spider-Man movie in Tom Holland’s stint as Peter Parker, we already know that this entry will have a much more somber tone than the previous as Spidey has been left without any memories of his former life following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Joined by Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher), Holland has previously revealed that Brand New Day will be a “fresh start” for Peter and now a recent report from Kevin Feige himself explains that in more detail.

During a roundtable conversation with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige spoke more about Spider-Man: Brand New Day and how the movie will focus a lot more on Peter’s return to his roots.

“I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories him being a proper Spider-Man,” Feige explained.

“Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with — for lack of better terms — street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events.”

He went on to explain how this will allow more opportunities for Peter to interact with characters we have not seen yet with one of which including The Punisher himself.

“So when you do that, you say, okay, who are the other street-level characters that we’ve never seen him interact with?” He continued.

“And of course, I love that The Punisher started in a Spider-Man comic. That great cover... I don’t want to say too much, but Destin — I will say too much — Destin is doing an amazing job right now on that movie, which starts shooting very soon.

And he’s got eight or nine comic covers up on his wall in his art department that he is bringing to life in this movie, which is super cool.”

With Spider-Man: Brand New Day expected to hit cinemas on 31 July 2026, fans are already feeling the hype and this recent discussion with Feige is sending them wild.

“With the Punisher confirmed, this is going to be a blast,” one user said over on r/Marvel.

Another agreed, adding, “This is exactly what everyone kept saying they wanted.”

It seems as though this is the right direction for the highly anticipated Spider-Man 4.

Now to wait another year to see it…
