Spider-Man: Brand New Day finally bringing back Michael Mando's Scorpion, apparently

Have I ever told you the definition of insanity?

We’ve had a long old wait to see him return, but it seems that one of the best casting choices in the entire MCU might finally be coming back for Spider-Man: Brand New Day; Michael Mando’s Scorpion.

Disney loves wasting great casting choices in the Marvel films. Christian Bale in Thor: Love and Thunder, Sigourney Weaver in The Defenders, basically everyone in Secret Invasion… the list goes on.

Thankfully, however, it sounds like one of their best casting choices is finally coming back for a second go at things, if a recent leak on Disney’s behalf is true.

This news comes via Comic Book Movie's Mark Cassidy, who spotted a (since deleted) Instagram post featuring a snapshot of Disney’s presentation at the Blockbuster Consumer Products event earlier this week.

The post featured an image from their presentation that showed off three of the villains that will supposedly feature in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, including Boomerang, Tombstone, and Scorpion.

From what I can tell, no exact mention of Michael Mando was actually listed anywhere in the since deleted post, but Disney would be out of their minds not to throw a truckload of money at him to reprise his role following the success of Better Call Saul.

We haven’t seen, or even heard for that matter, anything from the MCU’s Mac Gargan since he popped up in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but it would make a lot of sense to bring him back now that J. K. Simmons is officially reprising his role as J. Jonah Jameson (considering Jameson was directly responsible for Mac Gargan becoming the Scorpion in the comics).

Whatever route they decide to take with Scorpion’s origin story, I’ll just be thrilled to see Mando back on our screens. He absolutely nailed the role with what little screentime he’s been offered so far, so I’d love to see him take on an even bigger role in the fourth Spider-Man film.
