With Avengers: DOOMSDAY on the horizon, fans are speculating who the Avengers team will consist of, seeing as so many older faces have dipped out of the MCU.
Will there be returning heroes? Will we see some Marvel legends step up to face off against Doctor Doom? Will the younger generation get their shot?
As of right now, we have no idea who Sam Wilson will recruit to fight by his side, though we do know he’ll probably steer clear of the Thunderbolts, ahem, I mean The New Avengers.

Over on Reddit, fans are having a stab at guessing who will make the team, and the guesses go from the expected to the wildly optimistic.
The thread’s creator pitches in with “Hawkeye and/or Kate Bishop, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Ironheart, and She-Hulk.”
Most of those make a lot of sense, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some left-field choices filling in for heroes passed.
A reply from Skullcrusher158 goes, “I think, Smart Hulk will definitely be there. So will the new Falcon. War Machine is gonna be there too, and eventually we'll obviously get Thor, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel as well.”

Captain Marvel wields a crazy amount of power, and teamed up with The Sentry - if he remains on the side of good - they could make Doom’s life very difficult.
“Peter Quill is chilling on earth too,” mentions Key-Fire, and it’s worth remembering that the last Guardians of the Galaxy film did state he’d be coming back.
One fan is looking at the announced cast and putting a few extra names into the mix, saying, “Shang-Chi, Black Panther (Shuri), and Falcon are also not associated with any teams. So they should also be candidates.”
By this logic, Namor should be in there somewhere, and he has a comic book history with the team.
