MCU fans terrified as new trailer debuts most powerful Marvel villain yet

Enter The Void

Marvel’s Thunderbolts* will debut later this year in a film that will bring in one of the most dangerous threats the MCU will ever see.

On the surface, the new film looks like a humorous adventure filled with misfits, but Marvel will unveil one of the biggest threats to the MCU, and one that could be pivotal in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Thunderbolts* will unveil a monumental threat later this year

You can catch a glimpse of Sentry, also known as The Void, in the trailer that was debuted during the Super Bowl.

In the clip, you can see The Void flattening people into shadows as they run in fear, and it sets him up as a terrifying villain.

Over on Reddit, it’s discussed why he’s such a threat, and how he’s split between two entities - The Void and Sentry.

“Sentry is a schizophrenic reality warper. Schizophrenia makes you see and hear things, which aren't really there. And with Sentry subconsciously warping reality, he makes his imaginary monster (Void) real,” says one helpful Redditor.

In the comics, Sentry, who is a hero after counteracting The Void inside of him, is one of the most powerful characters.

As a villain, he’s considered one of the highest levels of threat to SHIELD, and Reed Richards believes The Void to be an ‘Omega-Level Threat’.

He can, essentially, warp reality and conjure anything in his mind; he can heal, is pretty much immortal, and moves and acts like Marvel’s own Superman.

Many think The Void is a god who possessed Robert, causing mayhem, until he fights back.

It’s also thought that these powers could be manipulated by Doctor Doom to create the events in Secret Wars, merging realities.

As another Redditor puts it, “I think The Void is the Marvel multiverse equivalent of the demon Azazel.”

And now he’s here to wreak havoc and send the MCU into a spiral. Not sure how a bunch of ragtag antiheroes are going to face him, to be honest.
