Almost four years ago, Marvel fans sat down to enjoy one of the MCU’s latest projects and thanks to its success, the animated show is set to welcome a brand-new spin-off featuring a much-loved character.

Yes, it’s What If…?, the animated television show based on the Marvel comic book series with the same name.

Check out the trailer for season three of What If...? below!

Airing on Disney+ back in 2021 and running for three seasons, What If…? reimagined noteworthy events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by creating a multiverse of infinite possibilities.

However, one episode seemingly stood out amongst the rest.

Season one, episode five, titled What If… Zombies? followed the story of The Avengers after they are infected by a zombie plague and must search for a cure.

It seems as though the episode was such a success that it has now inspired its very own spin-off show, Marvel Zombies which is set to air on 3 October 2025.

However, in this series, a whole new bunch of superheroes will find themselves infected by the plague including Scarlet Witch, Katy, Red Guardian, Shang-Chi, Jimmy Woo, Yelena Belova, Hawkeye, Ironheart and Ms. Marvel, to name a few.

Consisting of just four episodes, the show will welcome back some familiar faces such as Florence Pugh as Yelena, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Hailee Steinfeld taking on the role of Hawkeye.

Most excitingly perhaps is Iman Vellani who will be reprising her role as Ms. Marvel.

The Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel actor recently spoke to Comic Book Movie to share her excitement about the role.

"We've done the whole thing. It was amazing. It was so much fun. And I love—there are a lot of cool characters in the Marvel Zombies show. And Kamala is kind of the center of the show. They described it to me, it's like, 'She's basically the Frodo of the story.' And I was like, 'That's amazing.'"

"I get to interact and meet all these people along her journey," she added.

"And, yes, they're only the voices, and I don't get to hear their voices in real-time. But just, it's my fantasies, right? Like, knowing Kamala is going to interact with some really cool people, even if it's just animation, is so special in a lot of ways."

We have just a few months to go before Marvel Zombies airs but if it is anything like its What If…? episode, we are in for a treat.
