The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been exploring more of its supernatural side recently, making it the perfect time to introduce Ghost Rider, properly this time.
Ghost Rider does technically exist in the MCU as he appeared in the Marvel’s Agents Of Shield series, but rumour has it his next outing will be on a bigger screen for Avengers: Doomsday.
Avengers: Doomsday is going to completely tear apart the Marvel multiverse and introduce several characters we’ve never seen in the MCU before, some familiar but others brand-new.

It’s said the Spirit Of Vengeance is going to be one of those characters and Marvel Studios is eyeing up Ryan Gosling for the role.
This isn’t the only role Disney has eyed him up for either as it was confirmed last month at Star Wars Celebration he’ll play the lead in the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter film.
“I remember this being a rumour months ago. Didn’t he say in an interview he wanted to be Ghost Rider?” said one fan on Reddit in response to the news, believing it could add some credibility to the rumour.
Another added: “Been an obvious choice for a while now. Gosling wants to do IP stuff because his kids like it and it’s good money.”

Credible as it may be, there are also reports Nicolas Cage is interested in returning to the role, which is less believable but exciting nonetheless.
Personally, I think bringing Ghost Rider in for Avengers: Doomsday would be a bit of a misstep, with the best use of that character in future MCU projects being, hear me out, the rumoured Scarlet Witch solo film.
Think about it, Ghost Rider is all about vengeance and Wanda committed some atrocious acts with the Darkhold, a film where he’s pursuing her like a fired-up terminator would be exciting and keep in theme with his supernatural roots.
Seeing him in the next two Avengers films would be fine as well though, and if Ryan Gosling really is playing the character, there's arguably no one better for it.
