We now may know exactly which film is set to follow on from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s final Phase 6 film, Avengers: Secret Wars, and it’s probably not what you would have expected.

That’s right, it’s everyone’s favourite part of the day, folks; it’s time for some fresh MCU leaks.

Thanks to some insider knowledge from the well-known Disney leaker Daniel Richtman (per The Direct's Richard Nebens), we’re now pretty sure we know exactly which film will be the MCU’s first Phase 7 entry.

It all started with a pretty cryptic Tweet from Richtman, simply stating "Feb 2028". Thankfully, he didn't wait too long to explain that said date will be the month that Black Panther 3 is hitting cinemas.

This info is bolstered by the fact that Disney has already revealed their theatrical slate for the MCU, following the release of Avengers: Secret Wars.

Although that schedule is now three years old and is 100% incorrect due to some unforeseen delays (*cough* Jonathan Majors *cough*), the time in between each release is probably still accurate (just push all of the dates forward by two years).

It does also line up with comments made last month by Black Panther 3’s director, Ryan Coogler, who stated that fans won’t have to wait long to see the next entry in the Black Panther series.

Well, it sort of lines up, I guess. Almost three years is still a pretty long time, but I suppose we weren’t expecting to see this one before 2027 anyway.

It’ll be interesting to see how the events of Avengers: Secret Wars impact whatever the plot of Black Panther 3 is, especially considering that Shuri’s actor Letitia Wright was officially revealed to be starring in Avengers: Doomsday.

I wonder if this means they’ll pass the Black Panther mantle over to someone else during Avengers: Secret Wars?
