It appears that Marvel is planning a recast.

We’re just under one month away from the premiere of the long-awaited Daredevil: Born Again, marking the return of several of Marvel’s Netflix characters.

Of course, Charlie Cox has already made his return as Matt Murdock in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.

Fair to say though, plenty of us are also thrilled to welcome back Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Paige, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle.

It begs the question: will we see other characters from the Netflix universe drafted into the MCU?

I’ll be honest, I could happily live without ever hearing Iron Fist yap on about his chi again, but Jessica Jones?

Krysten Ritter’s reappearance is surely only a matter of time. She nailed that role.

One character who seemingly is slated to make a return is Elektra but rather interestingly, it doesn’t appear that Elodie Young will be reprising the role.

Take a look at Daredevil: Born Again in action below.

Young brought Elektra to life in Daredevil’s second season, reprising the role in the somewhat-slated The Defenders.

And I don’t think it would be wrong of me to say that on behalf of the fandom, we all thought she did a fantastic job.

Admittedly, The Hand storyline dragged on a little too long. There’s only so many ninja fights one can sit through, but that wasn’t Young’s fault.

It would’ve been nice to see her return under the show’s new direction but it doesn’t look as if that’ll be the case.

According to Marvel leaker DanielRPK, Daredevil: Born Again is casting for a female character in season two who’s in her 40s and of Greek descent.

That sounds, well, a lot like Elektra.

It could simply be the case that Young is busy, portraying the lead in Fox’s The Cleaning Lady which is already in its fourth season.

Being a lead is a pretty time consuming thing with Young likely already tied into a potential fifth season if it’s given the greenlight which doesn’t leave space for the year-long contract Marvel is offering.

It’ll be interesting to see who may replace her as fans are understandably disappointed by this development.

“Elodie is perfect for me. Not taking anyone else,” wrote Reddit user Abraham_Issus.

“Elodie Young was perfect in that role, and I long for her return,” added JANTlvr.

Daredevil: Born Again premieres on 4 March.
