Marvel is setting up an unexpected new MCU villain

A new 'big bad' is entering the fray

The age of Thanos is long behind us and yet MCU fans often spend much of their time looking backwards instead of forwards.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe started out incredibly strong, brining us a universe-ending threat that could, and did, wipe out pockets of civilisation.

Agatha All Along is only five episodes in but it's keeping a steady pace while delivering great moments.

However, since the death of Thanos, Marvel has been on the lookout for a new ‘big bad’ and it seems they’ve found one via the TV show Agatha All Along.

Of course, we’ve got Doctor Doom coming up, and Marvel also tried out Kang, but it seems the universe needs more threats.

Enter the possible spoiler if you haven’t caught up on the show and are keeping your eyes and ears sealed. If you don’t care about spoilers, then carry on reading.

Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal could very well be Lady Death, a character synonymous with dying and a horrible menace to all who live in the MCU.

There are plenty of reasons for Plaza to be revealed as Lady Death, however, she could also be a child of Mephisto.

Now, Mephisto is, basically, the Marvel Comics version of the devil. We all thought he’d have a hand in Wandavision, but that came to naught.

He’s a brutal enemy wielding vast levels of cruelty and he could very well be introduced soon, creating yet another massive enemy for our heroes to take down.

Lady Death on her own is bad enough, but she could open the door to many more magical beings intent on destroying all that is good.

This could spell trouble for the Earth and the surrounding galaxy if Lady Death does emerge from the final episodes of Agatha All Along.

Technically, Lady Death was set up in The Avengers when Thanos is told he has to “court death” which links to his comic book motivations of wiping out trillions in order to seduce none other than Lady Death.

She’s been a long time in the making, then. Let’s hope Marvel pulls this one off and gives us several villains to think about.
