It’s not unusual to see actors pulling double duty in the world of Marvel.

That being said, it’s a tad odd to watch as a viewer.

The most obvious example is Gemma Chan playing both Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel and Sersi in The Eternals.

Others are a little more complicated.

For example, Alfre Woodard played Mariah Dillard in Netflix’s Luke Cage as well as Miriam Sharpe in Captain America: Civil War.

Originally, the Netflix universe existed separately to the MCU, but it’s since been drafted in complicating this casting a tad.

It’s a similar situation with Josh Brolin.

The actor is best known for portraying the MCU’s Thanos but following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Brolin’s villainous role as Cable in Deadpool is also now considered to be a part of the MCU.

Well, yet another messy situation has come our way.

Venom: The Last Dance will be released in cinemas on 25 October. Take a look at the film in action below.

Chiwetel Ejiofor will be familiar to MCU fans for portraying Karl Mordo in Doctor Strange.

Next though, the actor will be seen as Rex Strickland in Venom: The Last Dance.

Technically, Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) exists separately from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

But, of course, the multiverse has altered the relationship between the two.

They may be two separate universes, but they do crossover with one another.

You need only look to the three-man Spidey team-up in No Way Home to see evidence of that - plus there are rumours that Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker may eventually cross paths.

With that in mind, it’s somewhat odd to see Chiwetel Ejiofor starring across both universes.

At the end of the day though, Ejiofor is a great actor so the opportunity to see him star in a Marvel role again is simply a treat.
