Marvel drops first official teaser for MCU Black Panther sequel series

It's time to delve into Wakanda's history

Eventually, I’m sure a fully-fledged third instalment in the Black Panther series will surface.

In the meantime, Marvel Animation is set to bring us an exciting spin-off in the form of Eyes of Wakanda.

There’s very little to go on, but the series did recently receive a smidge of a teaser.

While we’re awaiting a trailer, Marvel fans can now pick apart the series’ synopsis.

“In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry-out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda,” it reads.

“They are the Hatut Zaraze and this is their story.”

Unlike the upcoming Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man which is set in an alternate timeline compared to the MCU’s flagship Spidey, Eyes of Wakanda shares continuity with the Black Panther films.

It’ll feature a hand-painted animation style and, of course, boasts a stellar cast.

The MCU’s story will continue in Captain America: Brave New World.

Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Lynn Whitfield, Steve Toussaint, and Anika Noni Rose are just some of the names involved.

You’ll notice that no cast members from the live-action film series are featured here, leading many to wonder if this will be a prequel as the time setting of the project remains a tad hazy.

Interestingly, the series will introduce Iron Fist although it awaits to be seen whether this is a new iteration or if it’s linked to the Netflix version of the character, portrayed by Finn Jones.

The Netflix versions of Daredevil and Punisher have already been drafted into the MCU, so one would assume that Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage may eventually join them.

Jessica Jones is the most likely suspect given that the Iron Fist and Luke Cage series were … mixed in quality.

But back to Eyes of Wakanda.

We’ve got a while to wait yet as the series isn’t set to premiere until 6 August 2025.

Still, there’s plenty to keep us busy in the meantime, including What if…? season three, Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*.
