A new MCU series is about to give fans what they’ve been longing for: the return of several beloved heroes.

In total, nine Marvel characters will come back for this project.

Previously, most of these characters have appeared in live-action adventures, however, in this MCU series they’ll appear in animated form.

But don’t panic, the actors who’ve previously played them will be providing the voices for these cherished superheroes.

Considering how we mentioned animation, you may have already guessed which new show we’re referring to; we’re talking about Marvel Zombies, of course.

This show will be especially savage when compared with other Disney+ series, and will be only one of two mature rated projects being released this year.

Speaking of mature rated shows, you need to watch the Daredevil: Born Again trailer

The actors/characters we’re about to list have been confirmed via the official Disney website.

  • Awkwafina – Katy
  • David Harbour – Red Guardian
  • Simu Liu – Shang-Chi
  • Elizabeth Olsen – Scarlet Witch
  • Randall Park – Jimmy Woo
  • Florence Pugh – Yelena Belova
  • Hailee Steinfeld – Kate Bishop
  • Dominique Thorne – Ironheart
  • Iman Vellani – Ms. Marvel

Some of these had previously been teased in insider rumours about the series, and thus they might not be all that surprising.

Nonetheless, it’s still incredibly satisfying to see these MCU heroes return, some more so than others.

Each one of these characters are involved to varying degrees – like Ms. Marvel, who The Direct claims plays an “integral” role in Marvel Zombies.

Another intriguing hero returning is Scarlet Witch.

Given what happened during Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans have wondered how she’ll return.

It’s purported that Scarlet Witch will act as an antagonist rather than one of the survivors.

Although some may dislike this decision, it perfectly follows on from the events of the zombie What If…? episode.

There’s still several months between now and when Marvel Zombies begins airing, which is on 3 October.

We anticipate that more details will trickle through before then though, hopefully offering further insight into the zombie antics to come.
