It seems that The Last of Us and Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal couldn't be more popular than he is right now. If rumours are to be believed, he’s about to secure a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Lately, it’s fair to say that the MCU has experienced fatigue with its fanbase. Some fans simply feel they've over-consumed Marvel content, while others think there's been a drop in quality since Endgame. What’s more, the latest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Marvels, has been panned by critics and is currently one of the lowest-scoring entries of the franchise according to Rotten Tomatoes. It does seem to have proved a hit with some viewers though - it's a messy affair.

Take a look at The Marvels in action below.

However, perhaps everyone’s favourite superhero without a cape might be able to save the MCU with Pedro Pascal reportedly about to land the role of Dr. Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic in the latest Fantastic Four reboot.

In recent months, many rumours have been circulating the internet about who will be cast in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. So far, numerous names have been thrown into the casting hat to play Susan Storm aka Invisible Woman. Furthermore, Matt Smith has also been one of the potential names to play Reed Richards. Yet, it seems that Pedro Pascal may pip Matt Smith in landing the prestigious role.

The rumour of Pedro Pascal securing the major role of Reed Richards is courtesy of insider DanielRPK. According to his Patreon page, Pascal is “reportedly close to signing” on the dotted line to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Obviously, it must be stated that this is a mere rumour and we should take it with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. Especially when you consider many names have been mentioned to take up the leading roles in Fantastic Four. It's believed that Pascal will land the role if the filming schedule works around his current The Last of Us and Gladiator 2 commitments.

Currently, Fantastic Four will join Phase Six of the MCU when it releases on 14 February 2025, assuming it suffers no delays between now and then.
