Seeing one’s replacement is never easy to deal with, especially when it’s done in such a public arena.

Yet that’s the position Jonathan Majors now find himself in after Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con 2024 reveal.

We doubt any of you missed the news that Robert Downey Jr is returning to the MCU, only this time he’ll wear a different mask.

Even people who aren’t fans saw the news flood social media.

The reveal caused quite the stir, not least of all for the man who was destined to be the big bad of this new chapter in the MCU... before his fall from grace.

Earlier in the year when Majors was found guilty in an assault case brought against him, it left fans wondering who would replace him.

Speaking of Marvel, let's check out that Agatha All Along teaser again, shall we?

So much effort had been put in to setting up the “big bad”.

Now we know we needn’t have worried, for Downey Jr is here to save the day; however, Majors is having to come to terms with that fact, and he isn’t handling it well.

Speaking with TMZ, the disgraced actor said that he was “heartbroken” to see his character replaced.

He added, “I love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked, though.”

Later during the discussion, when asked if he’d return to the MCU if given the chance, Majors replied, “Hell yeah! Hell yeah! I love him. I love Kang.

“If that’s what the fans want, and that’s what Marvel wants, then let’s roll. Hell yeah.”

His eagerness is palpable.

Still, with the damage already done, it seems unlikely Majors will return to the MCU.

After all, Marvel’s already killed off the main Kang, even if few of us noticed. Not that death means much when the multiverse is on hand to throw up familiar looking variants, but still, his death has happened.

For now, though, Majors’ time with the MCU is still over.
