Deadpool made his MCU debut before Deadpool & Wolverine, and we all missed it

Don't feel bad about not knowing this one, as you would have had to have spent $3,500 to actually watch it in the first place

Deadpool’s first official appearance in the Disney’s MCU films was in Deadpool & Wolverine, as the first two Deadpool films were still wrapped up within Fox’s X-Men universe at their time of release.

However, even though Deadpool’s first appearance in an MCU film was in Deadpool & Wolverine… it wasn’t actually the character’s first appearance within the MCU itself.

Check out the teaser trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine below

Of course, nobody knew this because said appearance was locked behind a $3,500 VR headset. Basically you would have only known about this if you’re rich, and we all know rich people don’t like sharing.

As noted by Screen Rant’s Zoe Miskelly, Deadpool’s first official appearance was in something called What If? An Immersive Story which was exclusively released on the Apple Vision Pro.

The story sees you take on the role of some random nobody who gets tasked with saving the multiverse from an Infinity Stone-related threat by The Watcher.

Spoiler beyond this point if you’re planning to experience the story first-hand… haha just kidding, I know only like four people actually bought Apple Vision Pros.

However, if you do actually want to experience the story it has been uploaded in its entirety on YouTube.

This isn’t like piracy or anything, you’re not gonna get in trouble for watching it. VR recordings are seemingly fair game, which is probably why Disney hasn’t bothered trying to take this video down.

At the end of What If? An Immersive Story, you’re offered a choice to either destroy or not destroy the Infinity Stones.

Destroying them triggers a cutscene with Captain Britain, but not destroying them triggers one that features Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool - with footage ripped directly from Deadpool & Wolverine.

It also seems like some of the dialogue that’s been recorded here is just for What If? An Immersive Story, but either way this does confirm that Deadpool’s canon introduction in the MCU was in a VR “experience” that literally nobody watched.
