Deadpool's MCU return officially confirmed, way sooner than we expected

And by "way sooner" I mean "expect to see more Deadpool this Christmas"...

Ryan Reynolds is back in the Deadpool suit and filming something MCU-related, if a recent Instagram post from the actor is to be believed…

Ryan recently posted a video of him donning the suit (sans the mask) on his official Instagram account (which you can see here courtesy of Twitter user @cosmic_marvel) that more than confirms that the actor will be returning to our screens a lot sooner than we assumed.

In the video, Ryan can be seen yapping at the camera before he turns it towards a prop of a sleigh, with a filter pasted over the top of the video to make it appear as if it’s snowing.

In case you needed any further proof, Ryan also posted a picture of him hanging out with Leslie Uggams dressed as Blind Al (thanks to @MCU_Direct for uploading that one) on the set of her apartment (which looks suspiciously Christmassy).

It shouldn’t be too hard for any self-respecting MCU nerd to connect the dots here, as it seems Disney and Reynolds are gearing up to release a sequel to the 2018 Christmas special Once Upon a Deadpool.

Once Upon a Deadpool is a re-cut version of Deadpool 2 that’s a lot more family-friendly, which also features bonus scenes of Deadpool retelling the events of the story to Fred Savage (in a homage to The Princess Bride).

Considering re-cutting a version of Deadpool & Wolverine would take a lot less work than filming a completely original film, it’s more than possible that whatever Ryan is filming now will be out in time for Christmas - as the footage released so far would imply.

I wonder who Deadpool might retell the events of Deadpool & Wolverine to this time, in place of Fred Savage. Maybe they’ll finally use this as an opportunity to introduce Deadpool’s daughter to the MCU…
