According to a recent rumour from Cosmic Circus, Captain Marvel is set to be a key part of The Avengers team in Avengers: DOOMSDAY and Avengers: Secret Wars.

This means Brie Larson will be back in the suit and taking a large part in the upcoming duology as one of the most powerful heroes on the roster.

Thunderbolts* is one of two Marvel projects on the big screen next year

This makes me very happy as I’ve been a big Brie Larson fan for years and I love her on screen as Carol Danvers.

However, she has taken some flack over the years from fans and the media in how she conducts herself off camera.

This hasn’t stopped fans of Reddit celebrating that she will be back on the Avengers team.

“This is good. I don't even like comic book Carol Danvers that much but Brie Larson is very likable and has done a good job so far with what she's been given,” says PaymentTurbulent193.

Redditor moose-bank echoes those sentiments, “She has done a great job especially given all the BS criticism. I really liked her first movie and thought The Marvels was one of the better multiverse saga projects.”

Many took issue with her performance in Avengers: Endgame, but fans point out she was underused and took a back seat to the big hitters in the franchise.

Now that Iron Man and Steve Rogers’ Captain America aren’t a part of the team, hopefully she will get more time to shine.

This could be seen as her being under-utilised or underwritten.

One Reddit user sees this as the issue, “Captain Marvel’s problem has always been the writing. Maybe this time they won't put such an uneven script to her/actually give her a point to be in an Avengers movie rather than to serve a function”

I for one will be a happy little nerd when she steps up to help decimate Doctor Doom.
