Captain America returns as Chris Evans' OG Avenger resurfaces to become the talk of the MCU

Steve Rogers’ Captain America was one of the big three in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and while the character is now lost to us, his legacy lives on.

Chris Evans brought an energy to the role that made you believe the star-spangled hero could go toe-to-toe with Thanos with no issue, showing that despite the super soldier serum running through his veins, it was his heart that made him a formidable Avenger.

Now it’s Anthony Mackie’s turn to inspire us with his own version of the character in Captain America: Brave New World.

Now fans are praising his performance once again as behind-the-scenes footage of some of his fight scenes is doing the rounds online, as reported by our friends at UNILAD.

The fight scenes in particular are from the times Cap faced his old friend Bucky Barnes, also known as The Winter Soldier, which gave us some of the most impressive fights in the MCU.

Marvel’s latest projects have been riddled with CGI much to the dismay of fans, who’ve commented on how it’s regressed in quality as time has gone on.

Captain America Vs. The Winter Soldier though was entirely practical, with Chris Evans and Sebastien Stan learning the choreography themselves. Stan even learned that awesome knife flip he does in that initial first fight between the characters.

“Damn, didn’t realise how much of that they did themselves” said one viewer on an old Reddit thread, and another added, “The close combat knife fight is insane.”

“You gotta feel like a complete badass when doing those quick paced fight choreographies, the movement is so slick but explosive as well,” said one more fan.

They just don’t make them like they used to, but perhaps Marvel Studios will take some of the criticism onboard and give us more practical effects and fights like this in future MCU projects.
