MCU actor officially cast as new Batman, and we all missed it

Who dons the mask this time?

Last week saw DC and State Farm come together to bring fans one of the best commercials in recent years and now behind-the-scenes images have revealed something interesting about our new caped crusader.

Hitting U.S. television screens last week, State Farm surprised fans with a trip to Gotham City and saw stars such as Jason Bateman, Sza, Kai Cenat, and Jordan Howlett take on the roles of Batman, Catwoman, and James Gordon respectively.

Whilst we wait for its delayed sequel, check out the trailer for 2022's The Batman below!

Thanks to its movie-quality visuals, fans are impressed, especially considering it is just a commercial for insurance and as a result, the television spot has gone viral.

With Bateman and Batman coming face to face with some of DC’s most formidable enemies such as The Joker, The Riddler, and even an appearance from the often-ignored (much to my dismay) Poison Ivy, it is no wonder that fans want to see more.

Luckily, thanks to an Instagram post by the ad’s makeup artist Eliza Mollie Till and props builder Dan Crawley, we can now see more of the work that went into it.

Not only that but we now have confirmation that Batman was played by none other than Nicholas Hayner, a.k.a. Nick Filoiali'i.

Hayner is most known for being a stunt performer on movies such as Captain America: Civil War, The Walking Dead, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 and it seems as though Batman is just another string added to his bow.

So could this be our next Batman in any upcoming movies?

It remains to be seen but for now, it is exciting to get some Batman-related content, especially considering that The Batman Part II has now been delayed until 2027.

Hopefully it is worth the wait.
