According to leaks and rumours, the next two Avengers films could have an unexpected hero stepping up to the roster to battle Doctor Doom.

The news comes from Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus who states that Wonder Man could very well be taking a place in the big leagues very quickly after his debut.

You'll find a couple of short clips from Wonder Man in the Marvel Look Ahead video below

Wonder Man is set to premiere on Disney+ next year as part of a wealth of shows from Marvel that also includes Eyes of Wakanda and the final season of What If?

To quote Perez, “He’s apparently scheduled to show up in the next Avengers’ films, so it’ll be interesting to see where his story goes there.”

Which leads me to think that Wonder Man could appear in both films as a minor help in saving the world, with his main stories playing out in a second season of the show.

The new show sees Yahya Abdul-Mateen II play opposite Ben Kingsley as a hero working his way through Hollywood.

It’s unclear which version of Wonder Man we’ll get as he’s a hero with several reboots under his name, including one where he fakes superpowers before being bestowed with them.

The show appears to be more comedic than others and fans seem excited to see how the character is handled.

It would make sense to Wonder Man to take a role in The Avengers as surely the team will be pulling in heroes from everywhere to deal with Doctor Doom.

Whether he appears in both Avengers: DOOMSDAY and Avengers: Secret Wars, or just one of them, who’s to say?

The bigger question is what the Avengers line-up will look like. We’re not far out from Avengers: DOOMSDAY and the films Marvel are putting out feel very disparate at the moment.

Of course, you can take this news with a pinch of salt as it does come from a ‘scooper’ in the industry.
