Jackass star, Jason Acuña, has called out the decision to cast Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa in the upcoming Willy Wonka prequel film.

Ever since the trailer for Wonka dropped, it’s been the talk of the town, with many discussing how the film will differ from the ones that came before it as well as posting memes about the trailer’s stand-out moments. One moment, in particular, showed famous actor Hugh Grant have his face CGI’d onto an Oompa Loompa, and it immediately went viral.

Hugh Grant is seemingly taking a number of bizarre roles, like his appearance in the Dungeons & Dragons movie, which has us all convinced that he’s literally just doing side quests at this point.

While the majority found the casting quite funny, not everybody is laughing, such as Jackass star Jason Acuña. also known as 'Wee Man' who directly responded to the casting choice.

Acuña, who has dwarfism, said: "So I guess Hugh Grant, you’re now identifying as a little person."

The actor has gone on to discuss a growing concern that little people aren’t getting the roles they audition for because of their size.

Acuña said: "A lot of people, myself included, argue that dwarfs should be offered everyday roles in dramas and soaps, but we aren’t getting offered those roles … A lot of actors [with dwarfism] feel like we are being pushed out of the industry we love … One door is being closed but they have forgotten to open the next one."

The Wonka film will act as a prequel story, that shows a young Wonka played by Timothee Chalamet in his early days as a chocolatier. It’ll follow the character opening his first chocolate and sweet shop, and presumably how he ended up with an enormous factory.

While the focus of the story will undoubtedly be on Willy Wonka’s rise to power in the chocolate industry, there’s no doubt Hugh Grant’s character will steal the show whenever he’s on screen.
