Despite House of the Dragon taking place 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones, some fans believe a familiar face may be making an appearance in future episodes.

The newest show taking place in the Game of Thrones universe and based on the Fire & Blood novel by George R.R. Martin is currently taking the world by storm.

Check out the trailer for the currently airing season of House of the Dragon below!

Telling the story of the Targaryen dynasty 100 years before we meet Daenerys Targaryen herself, we follow the story of the Dance of the Dragons which sees a civil war take place during the Targaryen’s rule over the Seven Kingdoms.

Featuring a new cast of characters and a whole lot of dragons, House of the Dragon has been met with critical acclaim so it is no wonder that fans of the universe are already coming up with some theories.

According to some, they believe that Game of Thrones’ Melisandre may be making an appearance in a future episode of House of the Dragon.

The Red Woman was best known for helping Stannis Baratheon try to take the Iron Throne during the events of Game of Thrones but upon his death, shifted her allegiance to Jon Snow and House Stark.

With mystical powers, Melisandre harboured a deep secret: the large ruby necklace she always wore around her neck actually allowed her to maintain her youth despite her being 400 years old.

As a result, some fans believe she may make an appearance during the events of House of the Dragon as she would be a mere 200 years old at the time.

One fan took to Twitter to say: “I'm waiting for Melisandre to show up in House of the Dragon. She would have been 200 years old during that saga.”

However, it is bad news for those who have read Fire & Blood as we know the Red Woman makes no such appearance but, never say never!
