The first full-length trailers for House of the Dragon’s second season have finally arrived. Yes, that’s trailers, plural.

It was always going to be a tough task following in the footsteps of Game of Thrones, but House of the Dragon did so in style. As soon as reviews compared it to Thrones’ early golden seasons, I think it’s fair to say that we all knew that we were in for a good time.

Just a few episodes later and House of the Dragon had already secured an early season two renewal, with that season now having been in the works for two years.

The wait for more is almost over as House of the Dragon is set to return in June and ahead of its premiere, HBO has dropped two full-length trailers for the new season - and oh my, it looks just as glorious as we hoped.

Take a look at House of the Dragon’s second season in action below in the all-new ‘Black’ trailer.

All being well, it’s believed that House of the Dragon should last for four seasons, at least according to George R. R. Martin. Of course, it needs to maintain a solid base of viewers for that to happen.

Season two should track the events of the infamous Dance of the Dragons, a civil war within the Targaryen house with Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), Daemon (Matt Smith), and Alicent (Olivia Cooke) all continuing to be key players.

As such, season two has been presented to us via two different trailers. The ‘Black’ trailer and the ‘Green’ trailer. “There’s two sides to every story,” the marketing teases.

Take a look at season two’s ‘Green’ trailer.

A host of new faces will also be joining the show including Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, and Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower.

My hype for season two has grown tenfold - and we can now begin an official countdown. Season two premieres on 16 June.
